BUSINESS BROKERS

Sunbelt Business Advisors in Minneapolis is currently seeking to add business brokers for its growing office. We are the largest business brokerage firm in Minnesota and we help people buy and sell businesses under $5 million in revenue. ***We are also looking to recruit experienced advisors for our M&A division that sells larger companies from $5 million to $100 million in revenue.

Business Broker -What is a business broker?

The primary role of a business broker is to help owners sell their businesses when they are ready to exit.

Primary tasks will include:

• Business Development – Source and secure listing agreements with business owners through networking, direct marketing, and various forms of contact.
• Evaluation – Evaluate a business from a financial and operational perspective to develop an opinion of market value.
• Marketing – Once a listing agreement is signed, brokers will market and present the business through written and oral form.
• Screening – Screen, develop and work with potential business buyers for the firm’s listings.
• Transaction Management – Work with sellers, buyers, bankers, accountants, attorneys, and landlords in the negotiation process and ensure a successful completion of the transaction.

Who are we looking for?

Business Brokers come from a wide array of backgrounds. Most are former business owners, sales professionals, or have come from transaction-oriented industries. They possess strong sales, negotiation, management, or finance experience and are known to be persistent and resilient.
Incoming brokers will be expected to have a Minnesota real estate license or have the willingness to obtain one.

Compensation

Brokers and Advisors are commission only and are independent contractors.

• Top brokers can earn $250,000 – $500,000 with many of our brokers earning well over $100,000.
• Sunbelt pays new brokers a bonus for every listing they obtain (up to their first 15 listings during the first year)

CORPORATE AMBASSADOR

Sunbelt is the largest business brokerage firm in Minnesota and we help people buy and sell businesses under $5 million in revenue and up to $100 million in revenue. Our team sells more businesses than any other firm in Minnesota.

What is a Corporate Ambassador?

Sunbelt is currently comprised of a large team of business brokers who help owners sell their businesses when they are ready to exit. Business brokers typically source and secure business listings, evaluate the business from an operational and financial perspective to determine value, market the business, screen buyers, and ensure a successful completion of the transaction by working with sellers, buyers, bankers, accountants, and attorneys throughout the negotiation process.  Brokers typically work full time and have a Minnesota real estate license.

Sunbelt created the role of a corporate ambassador for those individuals who are knowledgeable in a certain industry and are well connected to business owners within or outside of the current industry they work in. This position is meant for those who want to stay in their profession, and simply would like to capitalize on their existing connections to business owners.

What does a Corporate Ambassador Do?

1. Leverage their industry connections and locate business owners who are ready to sell their business.

2. Introduce business owners who are ready to sell to Sunbelt Business Advisors

3. The business owner will be assigned to one of our business brokers who will list the business for sale

4. While the business broker will handle all parts of the transaction, ambassadors will assist the broker with a small part of the deal such as providing the broker with insight into a specific industry, assisting with marketing, etc.

Who are we looking for?

Our corporate ambassadors will come from diverse backgrounds. They may be an executive in the corporate world, current business owner, retired, etc.  The most successful corporate ambassadors will have a significant amount of connections in the business world.

 Compensation

Corporate Ambassadors are independent contractors for Sunbelt.

    • Each client you bring in will be assigned to a business broker. You will be working with the business broker for 2-10 hours on each deal in an area requiring your expertise. A typical closed transaction will bring you approximately $3,000 to $40,000 in consulting fees depending on the size of the deal.
    • Sunbelt also pays ambassadors a bonus if they bring in a client to Sunbelt and a broker ends up listing that business.
